Urban Details
Traditionally, the way architecture is mainly represented and discussed is through extraordinary single public or private buildings. Cities, among other, are spatially formed by buildings which stand next to each other. But cities, as having more complex characteristics, are defined by multiple criteria which all together create a different context of interpretation, a very distant model from this traditional approach to architecture.
Therefore, focusing on the city, the interest can be found not on the evaluation of a specific building but on the exploration of the ordinary urban details and the small spatial gestures; details and gestures which are in contact with the socio-spatial context of a specific place and are usually made by people's initiatives and not as part of a design process.
The following group of works and texts consists the material of the homonymous exhibition which was realised in November 2014 and supported by the programme "Supporting Creativity" of the NEON Cultural Foundation.

Improvised and contextual interventions
Anonymous or vernacular architecture, can be described as the structures which have been created by people's initiatives in the public space according to their daily needs and context of the place they belong. This specific category of architecture characterise mainly the Greek cities and landscape and can be constantly found.
By taking this fact as a point of reference and departure, a need for further exploring its nature is therefore created, either in the form of site specific spatial and contextual interventions or by documenting and highlighting found traces of it -also in different contexts outside Greece.

Reading works of others
The works of acclaimed architects and artists, most of the time, have become familiar through images in books. Therefore, details which are not apparent in the photographs as well as whatever comes out as a result of an in situ experience of every artwork or building are elements of further identification.
